IECER 2020 - A Virtual Community Conversation

Dear IECER friends,
dear researchers

Due to the current situation regarding Covid-19 and the unpredictability for what the second half of the year will bring, the IECER board has decided that the conference will not take place physically in Portugal in October 2020. However, we would like to pursue our common goal with you, the research community, and work together on the development of papers.

IECER 2020 - not a virtual conference, but a virtual community conversation

The IECER 2020 will not be a virtual conference that takes place at a set date in October. Instead, we will use the opportunities of digital technologies to work together – independent from time and space - to foster a virtual community conversation surrounding Entrepreneurship in Times of Technological, Economic and Societal Change. That way, we hope to encourage a lively discussion and exchange of ideas by using digital technologies as best as possible for our purposes and in smaller groups than usual.

How will that look like?

  -   You submit your full paper or your research-in-progress paper in your chosen track on the IECER webpage –
deadline extended to 15 July, 2020

  -   The acceptance notification will be sent out by the track chairs by 01 August, 2020
  -   After receiving the acceptance notification, you register on the IECER webpage and check in onto the peer-to-peer
       evaluation platform by
15 August, 2020
  -   Guided review process: The track chairs will assign and distribute papers to the participants of the track.
All authors are part of the reviewer team and will give feedback and/or answer specific questions relating to the
respective paper according to predefined review-guidelines. Each paper will be reviewed by two fellow authors and
the track chair by 15 September, 2020.

  -   During mid-September and mid-October virtual conversations within the tracks will take place: authors are requested
to prepare a short pitch of their paper

  -   IECER 2020: the “unCONVENTIONal" live event: On Thursday, 15 October, 2020 we will come together and conclude the
experiment with a virtual live event, and prizes for the best paper, best pitch and best review will be awarded

Please share in your network!

We are looking forward to receiving many submissions and starting this new journey with you!

PS: The next "real" IECER conference will take place in 2021 at the University da Beira Interior in Covilhã/Fundão, Portugal. The specific date will be communicated soon.
